Jewellery Collection

Welcome back everyone. Today I have a highly requested video for you. I will be sharing my jewellery collection, so let's jump right into it. Starting out with my gold necklaces, this piece is by a japanese brand called geezer tokyo designed by mademoiselle yulia. I'm definitely a sucker for anything heart-shaped, gold and or with jewels attached. Here I have a necklace with a shell pendant and it was an awesome find from a thrift store.

I love to bring this with me on beach holidays, this is my pirates of the Caribbean medallion necklace, it is official at Disney merchandise, you guys might not know this but I went through a pretty intense obsession with those movies several years ago, this one definitely comes with me when I visit Disneyland. Of course I have my nameplate necklace, I got mine from one necklace dot com. Next is this shell shaped necklace that has an iridescent quality and kind of looks like a rainbow crystal, i bought this about three years ago.

Here I’ve got this heart pendant necklace that has a digital clock inside, the brand is time co and i bought this from American apparel. The chain got pretty old and worn away, so I replaced it with a fresher one. This is one of my favourite necklaces which you guys would see me wearing all the time, it's my airplane necklace from a store called aqua v in Tokyo. I love that it's so dainty, but still very easy to tell what the pendant is. My next one is a super cheap necklace from ebay and it's just a lilac crystal heart pendant with a silver chain.

I also have this pendant in a darker purple, once again my obsession with crystals and heart shapes remains very obvious. Shells are definitely another favourite of mine when it comes to jewellery. Here I’ve got this necklace that has a whole bunch of gold shells on it. This necklace was a gift from a school friend many years ago, she thought i would like it because it reminded her of something out of it tim burton film and it kind of resembles a question mark.

You guys know I’m a sailor moon fan, so of course i've got this crisis heart necklace, which i think I got from ebay. This is a hand-me-down from my mum and i don't wear it very often nowadays, but it's this lock pendant necklace by juicy couture.

Here I’ve got this crescent moon-shaped pendant, I removed the chain off this to use on another necklace which i already mentioned, but i picked this up off ebay. Although I don't really wear it much i just love how kitsch it looks. My necklace collection wouldn't be complete without my signature monogram necklace, this one is from etsy and it is inspired by sally draper's monogram necklace. I searched until I found one that looked as much as hers as possible, because as you guys will be able to tell from this collection, i definitely like jewellery that is a replica of something out of a tv show or movie. Saving the most special necklace until last, this belongs to my grandmother and it was a gift to her from Ingrid of Sweden, who was the queen consort of Denmark. She was the grandmother of Frederick, the current crown prince of Denmark. My grandmother actually used to be a countess.

Moving onto my trophy necklaces, this is a plain gold beaded choker that i picked up about a year ago from asos. Nothing exciting here, but here is my good old black tattoo choker, if you guys know where I can get different types of stretchy chokers, let me know because i find them really comfortable and easy to put on.

Kind of a poor choice of background colour here but i thought pink and pearls just go so well together. Here is my pearl beaded choker and then i have my similar one in black. I will link my diy video for these in the infobox below.

I get so many questions about this necklace, it is my matilda londo replica choker and i got mine from aliexpress a few years ago. This choker is back from when the bondage inspired accessory trend was just becoming really popular, i got it maybe three or four years ago from etsy and it has a functioning lock.
Now let's take a look at my rings right here. I have all my favourite signature gold rings that i wear all the time, the lion ring is from gaza in Tokyo, it's just costume jewellery so it's pretty worn away. This pair of rings is vintage from ebay, here is my ring by keys of Tokyo that i bought last year from wild style in la. These next two rings are just cheapies from ebay and you can tell they're cheap because they're wearing away, and finally this is another hand down from my mom. It's a super high quality a replica diamond ring. I almost wasn't going to include this ring as it's part of my archive jewellery collection that i keep stored away, but this eyeball ring needs to be my everyday ring when i was in my harajuku style phase, it's by creepsville six six six.

I've got yet another pirates of the Caribbean official merchandise jewellery piece, it's a replica of one of captain jack sparrow's rings that he wears in the films and i picked this up from Disneyland in California. Now let's take a look at earrings, these are really just for styling purposes and photoshoots but here are some large gold hoops that hang down from a lion face pendant and i got these many years ago from a store called diva.

Another set of gold hoops, these ones have a very vintage glam look to them and i picked them up from a thrift store. I don't tend to wear them too much, as generally i avoid earrings that are quite heavy. This pair of stud earrings are by kate spade and i picked them up from nordstrom on sale about a year and a half ago, I’ve only worn them a couple of times, so i just keep them stored on the original packaging.

These earrings were a birthday gift from my family, they are these gorgeous dangling pearl earrings with tiny diamonds above them. The last set of earrings are these basic pearl studs that i picked up on sale from macy's about a year and a half ago. I also have a pair of crystal studs that i bought in that sale, but i am currently wearing them. And finishing off my collection, this technically isn't jewellery but it is my favourite and only watch which is by added us originals. So there you have my complete jewellery collection. Let me know in the comments if you guys have a signature piece of jewellery that you always wear. I would love to hear what it is and I’ll see you guys in my next one.

How To Wear Necklaces

So today I wanted to make a video on accessories, specifically necklaces. Necklaces are something that can make a statement in your look or in your wardrobe and it's also something that adds interest, adds something unique to your look. So I definitely recommend any kind of accessories not just necklaces but a lot of people like to wear them and people ask me all the time what body shapes suit what necklaces and how can you make your shoulders appear narrower or your bust appear bigger, your bust appear smaller and those are all things that actually can be solved with something really simple like a necklace, believe it or not.

So I'm going to show you how you can do that, a lot of girls with a smaller bust ask me how can they make their chest look bigger with the clothes they wear and it actually is possible by using a short chunky necklace like one of these. This one which is from hot Miami styles and this is just made up of lots and lots of strands of beads. And this when you add it to a like a low-cut top or any kind of top that is very simple.

This is going to make a statement to your look but it's also going to add some embellishment and some padding to your upper body, so it's going to give the illusion that you have a bigger bust. This one this will have the same exact effect and likewise with these short chunky ones, I would stay away from them if you have a really big bust or if you are like an apple shape. So you don't want to look top-heavy you want to balance at your shape. Here's another turquoise one and this one isn't so bad like this could be okay if you have a bigger bust, just be careful if you have broad shoulders because the smaller the necklace, the broader your shoulders are going to look.

This is another one that was given to me by a friend and this again is a really good option for you if you have a small chest, especially if you are pear-shaped. So if you're bigger on bottom then you are on top and you want to balance out your frame and give the illusion of like a proportion of body shape, so like an hourglass or something like that. You could just throw on one of these and it's definitely going to add volume to your upper body and it's going to balance it out really nicely.

So moving on if you have a big bust or wide shoulders, you want to not parade that area at all, so you don't want anything really short or really chunky up there, because you don't want to add volume to it and make your top look a lot bigger. So I suggest going with a long necklace like this, one that's going to totally elongate your frame and elongate your upper body as well. So that's really good if you have a short torso or if you have like a problematic midsection or anything like that, this is going to create a vertical line and it's going to really make your upper body appear thinner.

So this is from St Tropez, it's really pretty and then I also have, if you like chunky jewellery, chunky necklaces and feel like you can't wear them because you have a bigger upper body, that's fine you can still wear chunky jewellery, just keep it long. This is from vero moda and you can tell it's really chunky beads and I like to wear this a lot actually and it really brightens up like a collared shirt. I think that looks really good and just add this to any look and I think it's long enough for somebody with a bigger bust to pull off and I have something like this, which is kind of chunky on bottom and thinner on top.

This would look really good too, this is from secret conquest, also have this for you pretty one from asos. I love this because it's got ribbons and like a chain detail in it and again this will look really good and really flattering if you have a bigger upper body. I also have this beaded one and it's really long and this is from a boutique in Blackheath in London and this one I like because if you do like the shorter styles, but you have a bigger bust, there's a solution, you don't have to avoid them completely because obviously there are no rules in fashion and you can do whatever you want and dress whatever way makes you feel good.

I'm going to show you a simple solution if you, like me, like the shorts, the short chunky style but you have a bigger bust and I don't have like a really big one but, so how to do, so what I do is I just double it and have one short and one kind of long. So it looks like that, but it kind of gives the illusion that it has long half short and chunky and it's good for you if you have bigger buss because it's not going to make you look really top heavy or anything like that and it's still a nice detail to a plain shirt.

This here is a choker and this is from monsuno accessories, I mean sorry, so it looks like that and I definitely wouldn't suggest chokers for anyone with broad shoulders, because it makes your shoulders look broader, so stay away from them if you do. Otherwise if you've got narrow shoulders by all means wear chokers if that's your style. I hope this video helped you guys determine which necklaces suit which body shapes and I will talk to you in my next one, bye.

Accessorize an outfit with Jewellery

Hey it's Lauren Messiah, your personal fashion stylist and it is time for a fashion question; that's what we do around here. Here we go, hey Lauren my question is about accessories, how much is too much and how little is too little? Got a lot of opinions on this so saddle up. When it comes to accessories, I love accessories because I think they can really take a ho-hum outfit to the next level.

However, accessories need to be used very strategically and in moderation. One of the things that I see working stylists do, people that like, I want to be stylish so I'm gonna pile on every accessory I own. It ends up looking really weird, really cheap, really tacky. So you want to use accessories in moderation.

I really don't like the idea of over accessorizing, but as you said, like what's too little? Under accessorizing is not good too, so let me try to make sense of this for you. My outfit right now okay I got black on, I've got white on, the outfit itself has a lot of interesting components. I've got a little bustier top and I've got lace I've got this jacket that's got like kind of a tuxedo double lapel thing happening.

I've got the high waist pants, I've got a patent leather shoe, there's stuff to look at here. I like accessories and it's part of my personal style to kind of have a, like okay now, like always like a little hey now piece, what's happening there?

So I added just this one gold necklace, this is definitely a statement piece. This is actually also one of my favourite pieces because everyone thinks it's Chanel and it's J.Crew, okay? So I love this, but I chose not to add earrings or add a ring or add a bracelet. The most I might wear is a watch because watches are practical and that's the only reason why I'd be wearing it.

I could technically these would match a gold earring but adding this earring as cute as it is, it's way too much, it's competing for visual attention here. I don't want people to be like, ‘oh cute earrings’ and cute necklace it's what I want people zeroing in on, what area of my outfit I want them looking at.

So got my necklace which showed the bustier top it's also showed the boobs goes out you know trying to catch me as a man. I'm picking my focal point. Now, alternatively if I had on a more toned down outfit, maybe instead of a bustier top it was a t-shirt, maybe instead of this jacket that’s got, you know some shine to it, the black, the white, it was just a plain white cotton blazer. Then I just had on a pair of jeans that could need more, that could need a little bit more, maybe this necklace isn't the fit so we add just a very simple delicate necklace to it.

That's not enough to be like oh my god great necklace, so you could do a delicate necklace and perhaps a simple earring. So now we've put some thought into putting this thing together. So if your piece is a super statement, then you most definitely could add multiple pieces. Like those earrings for example, these are exciting but they're also not like, oh my god in your face that's crazy.

So it wouldn't kill you to like add a ring to it. This would be a nice little pairing, but if I added those to this, I would be entering crazy town. Nobody likes going to crazy town, so you really want to calm it down with your accessories.

While I have you all here, something else that just drives me crazy, when it comes to accessorizing in jewellery; is matching sets. What are you guys thinking? This is in my top ten of style stuff, it doesn't bug the crap out of me. If you buy a necklace and it comes with earrings and it also comes with a bracelet, that's bad enough they're probably not that cute. But on the off chance that they are never wear all of those items together. That just looks like some, got it out of the box, put it on they said it with stylish so it must be. No.

To have great style and to cultivate a look that's yours, it's about taking those earrings out of the set and putting them with an amazing dress or matching them with a different necklace, that equally distributes the weight of your of your look. So never wear a set, I just while we're on the topic I just I have okay. So too much is multiple statement pieces together, too little is a delicate piece just all on its own. With delicate pieces you can stack, you can add, you can layer, so that's really the balance and when you look in the mirror, see what is immediately getting the attention of the look and don't let other things compete with that.

If I were going out right now, I would have a simple black clutch instead of something jewelled and blingy or loaded with logos, because this is the accessory that I want people to see. I was in a little bit of a 20s throwback, so I did my little like turban thing but if I did like a hat it would probably be too much because I'm fighting for attention.

This is the piece I want everybody to see. So I hope that answered your questions, a lot of it is experimentation - you can go by Coco Chanel's rule and take one thing off before you leave the house or you can just see how you feel and experiment as you go.
Or tag me on Instagram and I'll check out your look, haha, what you think about that?  Lauren Messiah is my handle, alright that's all for that, if you guys have a fashion question for me, ask me, and drop it in the comment section and I will do my very best to answer it right here on video. Speaking of videos you must subscribe because I'm putting out new videos three times a week I would hate for you to miss one. So get your subscribe on and I will catch you in the next video.

How To Wear Statement Jewellery

Hey guys, it’s Sona Gasparian from simplysona.com Rachel Zoe is the queen of layering and every time she does that it just looks so chic and elegant but sometimes I feel intimidated because I feel like, sometimes it can feel overwhelming. So today we’re going to learn how you can do that and still look fashionable, I hope you guys enjoy this video and let’s begin.

I’m excited to be back. We did another really fun poll, we have necklaces, we have rings, earrings, cuffs. Right now cuffs are kind of my favourite, Yeah, they’re definitely in so let’s play with that. I think we have some really fun Windsors like these that have different colours and textures to them I don’t know what kind of stands out to you. Something I guess for summer, so this is great for the summer, it’s got a little bit of colour, it’s gold, chunky. Yeah, I love that pop of colour. This is really pretty too, the cage effect is really neat.

I actually like the way that these look together. I think we definitely make a Nelson out of those. I think that the cuff really lend themselves to a 70’s vibe, so I think it would be cool to do maybe a wide leg, kind of something on the bottom, like a denim or a pant and the a little crop top on top.
I pulled a couple of these, a green silky pair, there’s this denim pair, high waisted. How do you feel about either of those? Are you thinking of pairing it with the blacks? Yeah, I think this black top is so cute with the ruffle on the bottom. You know I think because the material is too similar to the green, why don’t we go with the pants. A little change up and I think that’s like a true seventies also, they’re high waisted, they have this unfinished hem, a nice wide flair leg. This could be really cute with the cuffs.

I’m going to try this while you pick the tallest platforms, I’m very short, and I will see you in a little bit. Ok, perfect. Oh, I love this. I know it’s so cute. Those jeans look really great on you, so seventies. You weren’t kidding, they are so long. We put you in the highest platform we could find and I still had to cuff the hem under to make it work. We’re just so cool I don’t even know how you do that. Well it’s the unfinished hem so that’s how they’re naturally supposed to be but the designer let out the hem so it’s just putting them back to how they were supposed to be. It looks really cute on you and I love it with the cuffs. I think they make a really cool statement with this. I think it’s funny because they’re definitely chunky but they don’t look as chunky with this outfit.

It’s all about pairing it with the right outfit and then it will look like they belong versus ‘oh my god that girl’s wearing so many cuffs, versus if I had it with the dress it just looked hideous. I definitely like the outfit but I would love to see something more summery. I think those cuffs are really great, it’s a really cool look but another statement piece I think are so fun are earrings and you can wear them during the day, they can transition to night. Especially for you with your hair it would be so cute, so pretty just highlight your face. Maybe even go lower than this, a really really long one.
We pulled a few options, we have some that have crystals, some that are a little more vintage feel  and some with coloured stones. What do you gravitate towards, are you looking for? I like what you said about going from day to night, so something that would be versatile, from work to play kind of thing. I think these gold with the chains are a good option for that because they feel like they could be worn during the day in a boho way, but you could definitely wear them at night also. I like this a lot.
They’re so pretty, let’s see how they look, that way you have something going on near your face and on your hand. I think we can build a daytime casual look around this, let’s do that. So let’s build your look. Something else to remember when you’re choosing an outfit around accessories is to pare down the clothing a little bit. As much as this is a really nice solid colour, you know this isn’t too crazy as a print but I think it would be nice to keep this look really neutral and also your earrings have a Bohemian vibe, so maybe we do separates. We have this white top which has an off the shoulder detail, so that will also help to bring attention up towards your face and accentuate the earrings even more. I do like the detail and I like the material, it’s really light and silky and really pretty and has an easy flow to it, similar to the earrings. We could pair it with these really neutral shorts. I think this would be an easy breezy, really cute look.

I like this and I like that it’s ‘flowy’ and soft materials, this is going to be perfect. I think this is perfect for the summer because it’s light, the fabrics are light, the colours are light, it’s the perfect outfit for the summer. It all comes together and it draws the focus up towards your shoulders and your face and lets the earrings really shine, and they are so pretty. Perfect, let’s do some shoes for this. I love a great lace up gladiator, I think they’re really on trend right now, especially for summer and I think the metallic will pick up the metallic in your earrings and could be really cool for a more casual vibe, or we can kick it up a notch with these sandals. They’re a Newton white and they have this gold hardware and they also go around  your ankle.

They’re both really cute, but I think I’m going to go with these because I’m short, got to give me some height. These are amazing, they go so well with the outfit, love the gold detailing it complements the earrings. I just overall think this look is my favourite. Perfect, so lets just get you a bag and you’re on your way. You look really put together and still really comfortable but ready for a great summer day and I love that it highlights your earrings, the statement piece.
Well thank you so much for having me, I’m going to get used to this treatment and keep coming back so I hope you guys like me. You are more than welcome anytime and thanks again and I will see you soon.

I love this outfit. It’s definitely my favourite because the colours are just so beautiful and I just love how light and comfortable that the fabrics are. That’s all for this video, thank you so much for watching and I hope you guys enjoyed the video and learned that honestly confidence is key if you want to layer a bunch of jewellery and you feel good about it, that’s all that matters. If you want to learn more about fashion, beauty, check out my channel as well, it’s going to be in the link below.

How to Make 2 Pairs of Quick & Easy Earrings with Charms

Hi this is Julie with beadaholique, and in this video I’m going to show you some recent additions to our charm collection and at the end of the video I’m going to show you how to make two different pairs of earrings using charms.

Most of the charms you see here are lead-free pewter and they are antique silver plate and antique gold plate and there’s some really fun designs so we’ve got this one here which I love. This is a origami fortune teller, really cool design and would look great just hung from a jump ring and then placed on a premade chain. These are great little pave crystal charms, nice to add to a bracelet or again a premade chain. Bicycles, I want to show you they look great on both sides. Little teapots and they stand up and then here we have some nice spiritual charms. And travel charms with the Eiffel Tower and the fleur del is. Holiday charms, we’ve got a great spider web and this one actually has two loops on it so you can make that into a pretty easy necklace if you want to, or you can just snip off one of the loops and make it into a charm.

Some nautical, here we’ve got the anchor and the starfish, a little pistol. Now these are great, these are just little spikes and there are little pendants which is great, you could put a lot of them on a single design or just use one on a nice kitty, a tool. Here we have some elements from the periodic table, a biohazard sign, a little chemistry beaker and then some nice solid hearts as well. And these actually have a curve to them which is really interesting and something that I haven’t seen before in a charm like that. Then over here I’ve got some fleur de lis in the silver and the gold. And these little cute robots as well and the silver and the gold. And these are the ones I want to turn into earrings. So I’m going to take this fleur de lis charm and you can see it’s got two loops. Now if you don’t want both loops, just snip off one of them. But in this case we are going to use both loops. And then I’m going to use this earring hook which actually already has a pretty little pink bead added to it and then some Czech glass crystal beads and a couple of head pins, we’re going to make a pair of earrings with those. And then with the robots we’re just going to use these little three quarter inch hoops.

I’m going to bring out my tools, you’re going to need a pair of chain nose pliers, round nose or wire looping pliers and a cutter and this is going to be for the fleur de lis earrings. So let’s start by going ahead and placing our bead onto the head pin. And then we’re going to just create a simple wire loop which is so easy with these wire looping pliers. So I’m just grabbing the wire and squeezing my pliers which does half of the work for me and then I’m just going to bring that wire around, rotate my pliers up top and then finish my loop and then right where the wire criss-crosses, I’m going to make a cut. And I’m going to do that with my other bead as well. These are so quick to make that you can definitely make many of these in an hour if you were wanting to make gifts. You could probably make a good, maybe 20 of these plus in an hour. Very quick and easy.

Okay now we’re going to go ahead and just open that loop, the same way we would open a jump ring. So we’re taking our chain nose pliers and I’m just going to twist that loop open, slide it on to the bottom loop of the fleur de lis. You can twist a little bit here, there we go. And then close it back up, you can put any beads you want of course at the bottom here. I’m going to do the same with the other one. Open it up, slide it on, close it back up and then we’re going to go to our earring hook, we’re going to open the loops at the base of the hook. Same exact technique and just slide on our fleur de lis charm and close it. And do the same for the other one, and close it. So we have a really pretty pair of earrings using the fleur de lis charms and they were very quick to make.

So that’s one way you can use these charms now, now another option are these little hoops and of course there’s a bunch of different size of hoops available. And these are beautiful earring hoops so it has a nice straight edge wire right here that we can slide the charm on or bead. So we’re just going to go ahead and slide on or little robot, now there is a right and wrong side of the robot so here you see his little eyes and detailing. And on the back is finished but of course he doesn’t have eyes on the back so we’ll make sure we slide that guy on facing forward. So since this the part that’s going to go through our ear we want him to face forward and then to finish this, all we have to do is bend up the end. So just bend it up a notch and you see right here that’s what’s going to go through your ear and then it’s going to go ahead and link into their little hole on the other side like so. To close it and then to make the other one. Of course you just do the exact same technique and you have a complete pair of these cute little robot earrings. And of course you can choose any charm you want to do these. You can find all of these charms and many more available at beadaholique dot com.

Custom Made Australian Jewellery - Fraser Ross - Chain Me Up

Who is Fraser Ross?

Fraser Ross (as we are now known) began trading online jewellery in July 2010 under the business name Chain Me Up. Today, some 7 years later Chain Me Up is both our registered trademark and the domain where we host our online store – Fraser Ross Jewellery

Ross was working for a gold and silver chain manufacturer on Queensland’s Gold Coast in the early 2000’s and had many requests from friends to supply them with quality solid gold chains at a price they couldn’t get in a retail jewellery store. With a long history in IT, it became apparent that the skills learned would be very useful in creating an online business and the contacts at the manufacturer guided him towards creating a jewellery store.

The manufacturer was able to custom make any of their gold and silver chains to any length for Ross and this gave him the key difference to the major retailers, who generally only sell what they keep in stock. Being able to provide customers with exactly the length of chain that they really wanted and in a reasonable time frame helped launch the business to a successful beginning.

Although custom made chains are the foundation upon which the business was built, it soon became clear that now the store had launched it was going to require a much wider range of products. We sought out a manufacturer for producing silver and gold charms to order and quickly formed a relationship with a small Australian business and that relationship is still going strong some 7 years later.

One of the main objectives of running this business was to only sell Australian made jewellery and in the early years we were able to meet this desire. Since we launched our own business, a number of manufacturers in Australia have closed down or sold out to overseas interests. This has made it much harder to keep our range of products exclusively Australian made, in fact there are some pieces that are simply not manufactured here and we do now source some jewellery from overseas manufacturers. Despite not being able to sell exclusively Australian jewellery, we have managed to keep our overseas goods to just 5% of our complete range.

As with our chains, our full range comprising more than 4600 charms can all be made in silver, yellow gold or rose gold and over 4000 of these charms are also available in white gold. A choice of findings (fittings) allows our charms to be for connected to existing traditional bracelets, to wear as earrings or pendants and fit to Pandora style snake chain bracelets using sliders. Selecting a parrot clasp even lets you easily swap charms from one bracelet to another in no time.

The past 7 years have seen many changes as shopping cart software has become much more complex and functional. Where functionality was missing, Ross has re-coded sections of the cart software to achieve results that otherwise would not have been possible. The difficulty of bulk updating prices, images and product descriptions was solved by Ross developing SQL statements to fully automate the processes that would otherwise take many hours of work.

Back when we first started people only viewed web sites on their computers, often over a dial up modem connection. High speed broadband and mobile telephones and tablets meant a complete redesign of our website to cater for this new technology. Our store is now based on a system called bootstrap that allows for beautiful design and outstanding functionality. Being responsive, it changes the layout of our thousands of web pages to best suit the many different screen layouts. Who knows what further developments will need to be considered in the next 7 years?

As well as being in charge of the technical side of our business, Ross has also started creating the first designs in our handmade range of jewellery. Currently a small range of sterling silver earrings and bracelets, but destined to grow into the future. Quality not quantity was the primary concern, so every link in every design is argon pulse welded to ensure the jewellery will be around for many years and won’t fall apart if you catch it on your clothing.

Gold Necklaces & Solid Gold Chains | Gold Bracelets | Fraser Ross

Shopping for a gold necklace can indeed be intimidating with all the different styles, widths lengths and colour choices it can be supremely difficult choosing which one is right for you. When purchasing for yourself, take into consideration how you will wear the necklace, will it have a pendant? What outfits will you be wearing it with most? What colour do you like against your skin? The length will affect where the chain sits on your chest, for example: a 45cm chain will sit quite high on a lady’s chest and will normally be too short for a man. The larger your build, the longer your chain will need to be; if you have athletic shoulder and neck muscles you may need to tack on a few centimetres to your chain so it sits where you would like. Men’s gold chains will often be around 55cm so they don’t sit too high around the neck, a larger man may need a 60-65cm chain to flatter their build. Men usually opt for a heavier and thicker chain as the finer, more delicate chains can look feminine on masculine builds. We will usually advise men to purchase chains of 5mm or greater widths, the exception to this is when a pendant will be required and so the chain should be selected to suit the pendant.

Most gold chains can be found in rose gold, yellow gold and white gold, thought the most common is definitely yellow gold. Yellow gold is very popular among men but men who have previously owned silver jewellery are likely to choose a white gold necklace. Throughout the early 1900’s Rose gold was extremely popular and is now making a comeback due to its warm colour and antique feel. We feature a large range of gold necklaces that can be made in a single solid shade of gold or a combination of any two or three colours of rose, yellow and white gold. Our fancy link chains can be customised by colour, length and width, which means you can create your own unique chain that no one else will have. A good way to find out what length, colour and width you like best is to visit a jeweller and try on the ones that appeal to you most.

Don’t be afraid to ask the shop assistant to measure the length and width of the chain so you can price compare like for like on our website. We show as much information in our store as we can to help you make a fair comparison with the jewellery you see in the retail stores.

We offer the largest choice at Fraser Ross by having all of our necklaces and bracelets being able to be made to the exact length you want, in any or all shades of solid gold.
